Yacumama – the mysterious giant serpent that dwells in the Amazonian waters
Yacumama means "Mother of Water," it comes from the yaku (water) and mama (mother). This enormous creature is said to swim at the mouth of the Amazon River as well as in its nearby lagoons, as it is its protective spirit.
